Technology Used in Reconstructing Shooting Accident Cases
Knott Laboratory performed video analysis on police body cameras and cruiser videos, using high definition 3D point cloud data and match moving/camera matching techniques. These techniques allowed us to accurately define the officers’ paths and measure their speeds and distances from their civilian target at any point in the available videos.
Knott Laboratory also used Markerless Motion Capture (MoCap) technology to test and measure the biomechanical movement of the civilian or other pedestrians seen in the videos.
All these technologies have a solid foundation based on the validated science of Videogrammetry.
